On Saturday 19th December the Brethren of Kennet Lodge, their friends, family and guests had got together at The Winning Hand in Padworth (near Reading) for the annual Kennet Lodge Christmas party.
Not only is this a fun night with food and music, but it also raises funds for what we term the "Lodge Widows". These are the widows of past members of Kennet Lodge, and they are invited to attend the meal, as well as receiving a gift voucher from the Lodge.
The annual Christmas Dinner is obviously a great social event and allows the wives and partners to also socialise with each other. Once the dinner has been eaten we like to have a small carol service. It's usually lead by an organist, but this year it was lead by the WM's wife and mother-in-law (who sing and run a local choir).
